  • Do I have to use ear drops before I come to see you?

Yes please, if you are able to use some Olive Oil drops in your ears for at least three days before your appointment it will help to soften the wax. This makes it easier for us to remove it all and makes the treatment more comfortable for you. If you need to see us urgently or there is a reason you are unable to use ear drops in your ears, please contact us for further advice.

  • How soon can I be seen?

We have frequent clinics and will try and accommodate you as soon as possible.

  • Do you only remove wax with a sucker? Can you remove by another method?

Sometimes if the wax is mainly in the outer part of the ear canal we can remove it with small scoops, a fine probe or pick it out with tiny forceps. If you would rather we tried this before the suction machine please ask.

  • I've had ear problems and surgery in the past, is microsuction safe for me?

Definitely, microsuction is the safest way to clean your ear because it is performed under direct vision through the microscope, which gives us a magnified view of what is going on. Ear syringing should be avoided if you have had previous surgery on your ears.

  • How do I make an appointment?

Please phone our secretary on 02392 985 445 to book an appointment or check availability at our clinics.

  • Can my partner/friend come with me?

Yes of course. If you are at all anxious and would like someone in the treatment room with you that is not a problem.

  • Can I book to see a specific consultant?

Most of our clinics are led by our highly trained and experienced Nurse Practitioners, however if you would like to see a specific consultant please call Alexis, our Practice Manager on 02392 985 445. She will be able to discuss this further with you and see what arrangements can be made for you.

  • I had my ears cleared, but I'm still having trouble with them, what should I do?

We are very sorry to hear that. Please make an appointment to see us as soon as possible and we will see if there is anything we can do. There will be no charge for a follow up appointment within 2 weeks.

  • What if I need to be seen again?

If your ears block again in the future just phone our secretary on 02392 985 445 for an appointment.

  • Does it hurt?

Not usually, however it can be noisy and your ear canal skin is sensitive so we do everything we can to avoid touching it with the suction end.

  • Do you have step-free access?

Yes, all of our locations have step-free access and disabled parking bays.

  • Do you do discount for multiple bookings?

Yes, absolutely we understand that many people do have a recurring problem with their ears becoming blocked, so we are happy to provide discounts for multiple bookings. Please phone our secretary on 02392 985 445 for further details.

  • Do you do gift vouchers?

Yes we do. Please contact our secretary on 02392 985 445 and we will send one to you or to a different address if you wish.

  • Does wax come back?

Wax often re-accumulates and many people like to have their ears cleaned on a regular basis. Typical time intervals are every 3, 6, 9 or 12 months. Of course any time interval that suits you can be arranged.
